Touch Sensor Switch Using Inverters

This touch sensor switch can is designed using inverters (N1, N2)and some common electronic components. In standby state at the entrances of N1 there is a signal produced by oscillator N3/N4. At the touch sensor hand capacity forms a bridge to the ground for the 1MHz signal so that the voltage signal at the entrance of N1 decreases more (at the exit of N2 is logical 1). After the release of contact, a signal charge C4 through D1 Mhz, so the output of N2 is 0 logic after short time.

Knowing electrical switch

In energy technological innovation, a change is a handled factor that can break a handled routine, uncomfortable the present or direction-finding it from one conductor to another.[1][2]

The most familiar way of change is a independently handled electromechanical system with one or more locations of electrical powered handled managed handled connections, which are attached to exterior journey.

Each set of connections can be in one of two states: either "closed" significance the connections are in contact with and energy can activity between them, or "open", significance the connections are divided and the change is nonconducting. The procedure actuating the alteration between these two declares (open or closed) can be either a "toggle" (flip change for ongoing "on" or "off") or "momentary" (push-for "on" or push-for "off") kind.
A change may be straight handled by a personal as a management indication to a system, such as a PC key pad choice, or to management energy activity in a routine, such as a light change.

Instantly handled changes can be used to management the activities of gadgets, for example, to indicate that a accessibility has acquired its finish start place or that a system product is in a place to agree to another workpiece. Changes may be handled by procedure factors such as pressure, heated extensive extensive variety, activity, present, current, and energy, doing as receptors in a procedure and used to right away management a system. For example, a heated extensive extensive variety is a temperature-operated change used to management a heating procedure. A change that is handled by another energy routine is known as a web link. Huge changes may be a little bit handled by a website produce procedure. Some changes are used to personal energy from a system, offering a identifiable factor of fulfillment that can be padlocked if necessary to avoid exclusive function of a system during servicing, or to avoid energy surprise.

Build A Relay Toggle Switch

Half of RL1 and RL2 manipulate the switching and the other is connected to an application. Relays are 200 ohms above ground and at one point are referenced to positive that turns them off.

Description:

RL1 (which is off) applies plus voltage from its armature and latches RL2 “on”. The application terminals are set to [A]. The condition changes when S1 is activated, voltage is applied to RL2 latching RL1 “on” releasing S1 turns RL2 “off”. RL2’s armature is then directed to R1. Terminals are set to [B].

When S1 is pressed again, the relays negative side are referenced to positive, RL1 turns “off” (there’s no current flow). RL2 turns “on” when S1 is released, terminals are set to [A]. There is slight lag between relays depending on how long S1 is held.

Relay Toggle Switch Circuit Diagram

Note:

If different relays are used, adjustment of R1’s value may be required. For example, OEG relays (12vdc, 270 ohm coil) need R1 at 60 - 70 ohms. The prime motivation for this design was to avoid using toggle switches for my audio control panel. Another plus, it can be controlled from a remote transmitted pulse.

Automatic TV Lighting Switch

The author is the happy owner of a television set with built-in Ambilight lighting in the living room. Unfortunately, the television set in  the bedroom lacks this feature. To make up for this, the author attached a small lamp to the wall to provide background lighting, This makes  watching television a good deal more enjoyable, but it ’s  not the ideal solution. Although the TV set can be  switched off with the remote  control, you still have to get out of bed to switch off the lamp.

Circuit diagram :
Automatic TV Lighting Switch-Circuit-Diagram

Automatic TV Lighting Switch Circuit Diagram

Consequently, the author devised this automatic lighting switch that switches the background light on and off along with the T V set. The entire circuit is fitted in series with the mains cable of the TV set, so there’s no need to tinker with the set. It works as follows: R1 senses  the current drawn by the TV  set. It has a maximum value  of 50 mA in standby mode,  rising  to around   500 m A  when  the  set  is  operating. The voltage across R1 is limited by D5 during negative  half- cycles  and  by  D1– D4  during positive half-cycles.  T he  voltage  across  these  four diodes charges capacitor C1 via D6 during positive  half-cycles. This voltage drives the internal LED of solid-state switch TRI1 via R2, which causes the internal triac to conduct and pass the mains voltage to the lamp.   Diode D7 is not absolutely necessary, but  it is recommended because the LED in the  solid-state switch is not especially robust  and cannot handle reverse polarisation. Fuse  F1 protects the solid-state switch against  overloads. T he  value  of  use d  here  (10 Ω)  for  resistor R1 works nicely with an 82-cm (32 inch)  LCD screen.

With smaller sets having lower  power consumption, the value of R1 can be  increased to 22 or 33 Ω, in which case you  should use a 3-watt type. Avoid using an  excessively high resistance, as otherwise TRI1 will switch on when the TV set is in standby mode.  Some TV sets have a half-wave rectifier in the  power supply, which places an unbalanced  load on the AC power outlet. If the set only  draws current on negative half-cycles, the cir-cuit won’t work properly. In countries with  reversible AC power plugs you can correct  the problem by simply reversing the plug. Compared with normal triacs, optically cou-pled solid-state relays have poor resistance  to high switch-on currents (inrush currents).

For this reason, you should be careful with  older-model TV sets with picture tubes (due  to demagnetisation circuits). If the relay fails,  it usually fails shorted, with the result that the TV background light remains on all the time. If you build this circuit on a piece of perf-board, you must remove all the copper next  to conductors and components carrying  mains voltage. Use PCB terminal blocks with a spacing of 7.5 mm. This way the separation between the connections on the solder  side will also be 3 mm. If you fit the entire  arrangement as a Class II device, all parts of  the circuit at mains potential must have a  separation of at least 6 mm from any metal  enclosure or electrically conductive exterior  parts that can be touched.

Pushbutton Switch

This circuit acts like a two-position switch but is operated using a pushbutton. After power has been applied, the circuit is in the following initial state: the bases of T1 and T2 are at the positive supply potential and the base of T3 is at ground potential. All transistors are cut off. The other contact of the pushbutton is at ground potential. No current flows through the relay coil and the status LED is off.

Pushbutton Switch Circuit diagram :
Pushbutton Switch-Circuit-diagram

If the pushbutton is pressed, T2 and (after a slight delay due the RC network) T3 switch on. The collector of T3 is now nearly at ground potential, so current flows through the relay coil and the function LED is illuminated. T1 can also switch on. This situation is stable, since ground potential can reach the base of T2 via R1, so nothing changes when the pushbutton is released. C1 is charged via R3 to cause a positive potential to be present at the pushbutton. If the pushbutton is now pressed again, it connects a positive potential to the base of T2 instead of the ground potential. This causes everything to toggle back into the initial state.

Similar operation can be obtained using a thyristor circuit, and in fact T2 and T3 form a sort of thyristor. However, the circuit shown here is largely independent of the voltage and current demands of the connected load. The relay coil should be suit-able for the supply voltage (5–12 V) and should not draw more than 250 mA, since otherwise T3 will go up in smoke. With our lab prototype, we measured a current consumption of 70 mA in the ‘on’ state and less than 0.1 mA in the ‘off’ state.
